The ‘King’ returns.
The ‘King’ Returns…
A long-awaited return is in the eyes and minds of enthusiasts across the UK, as former GWR and BR ‘King’ Class locomotive No. 6024 nears completion with @locomotiveservicesgroup, ready for another decade on the main line.
‘King Edward I’ last made an appearance on the national network on March 17, 2012, and ever since, the British public have patiently waited to see her run on home soil again. Kings are, without a doubt, some of the hardest engines to fire at speed, but many a GWR driver will attest to their incredible efficiency and power.
This poster is a nod to the future — looking ahead to many trips chasing this four-cylinder beast across the country. A symbol of national pride for many, and a piece of exceptional engineering.
